6 IS a serious number

We like the simple things in life. Mexican night, breakfast for dinner, going to the park, walks around the block, and 6 IS a serious number. Oh those so many nights that the Cardinals score more than six runs, we get to go to mobile and get our cheap drinks. Really not that cheaper, 20 cents on soda, but we enjoy the fun of it.
We'll be there tomorrow

How 'bout them birds!

How in the world are the Cardinals doing it? TLR gone. Hombre gone. Carp and a team full pitchers out. And somehow they are not only thriving, but have the best record in all of baseball. They baby bird arms getting pulled up are outstanding, just outstanding. And the batting coaches are going old school, teaching the kids be aggressive, but after two strikes, shorten the swing and just get a hit.
My only gripe is that some tool decided the Cards and the Sox don't need to play this year. TOOL
It's a good time to be in the STL and a baseball fan.

She's crafty

AB and Coors are really pushing the craftyness of their products. Blue Moon (coors) has a line of about 15 different varieties, most of which have left the witbeir original behind. While Shock Top is not so prolific in varieties, AB touting of being a local brewery and comparing itself to craft beers is just a little wrong. Just a little. Now I've always liked Shock and Blue, and a million people drink Bud every day, but let's keep the playing field even and have full disclosure. Of course, that doesn't happen in any other industry, so I doubt it.
Great beers locally coming out for the summer:
Schlafly has Summer Lager, a great summer beer and XIPA, my favorite IPA. They tweeked the recipe, so I'll see if it's still tops.
Perennial has Homefront, an IPA with proceeds going to troops, Barry Rye, blackberries, and if you can find it Savant Beersel and Fantastic Voyage.
4 Hands has two IPAs with Warhammer and Contact High.
O'fallon has Wheach, a peach wheat, year round now.
With 20 plus breweries around town, you should get crafty too. And if the mood takes you, grab some buds.
Cheers

OK

The devastation in Moore is heart wrenching. Knowing that kind of destruction is out there is rough. You want to be able to protect your kids at all times, but the reality is you have to trust that the world will keep them safe. Every day you walk them to school, put them on the bus or drive them, and you have to let go. It was worse with Sandy Hook. People shouldn't do that to each other, you don't expect it, and you hope it doesn't happen again. But these storms, not so much freaks of nature but regular occurrences, can really mess us up. Thankfully we live in an area that has good building codes, an advanced warning system and basements. I can sleep tonight
